When we are healthy and strong, there is a powerful flow of energy running through our bodies. When we feel stressed or unwell, this flow of energy is reduced. Reiki is a simple and effective way of restoring the flow, enabling your body to revitalise itself.

Regular Reiki can calm the mind, relax the body and soothe the soul.

Reiki is a safe, non-invasive healing energy that channels itself to wherever it is needed in the body. By stimulating the body's natural healing ability at the deepest level, reiki removes physical and emotional energy blockages.

During a treatment, you remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on the treatment table or sitting in a chair. Reiki is channelled through my hands using a light touch or no touch.

Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people fall asleep immediately, others may feel tingling, vibrations or warmth. You may feel no sensations at all and that's OK, this doesn't meant that Reiki isn't flowing. Sometimes tears may flow as emotions are released. More often, people experience deep relaxation and a blissful, calm peace.

Reiki may provide the following benefits

  • Restores balance

  • Supports the body's natural ability to heal itself

  • Promotes a state of deep relaxation

  • Reduces stress and tension

  • Calms the mind

  • Provides an increase in confidence to make positive life changes

  • Reduces intrusive thoughts

  • Cleanses the body of toxins

  • Eases physical symptoms

  • Increases positivity, energy and vitality

  • Reduces anxiety and depression

The benefits of Reiki are unique to the individual, the effects of which may continue to work for a few days after your treatment, as your body takes what it needs.

The Origins of Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'universal life force energy.' It is a healing practice developed by the Buddhist priest Dr Mikao Usui, who after many years of study discovered a way of accessing and using this healing energy, and of passing this ability on to others. He developed the following principles to help improve the quality of a person's life. He found that the treatment was much more powerful and effective when these principles were adhered to:

Just for today, do not worry

Just for today, do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing
